We started on the very first by taking our DAISY – precious girl – to the Ethiopian Orthodox Church in midtown PE for their Palm Sunday Celebration of Christ’s entrance to Jerusalem. As usual, Daisy behaved in an exemplary manner despite the drums, ululating, clapping and being led by Sally with a handful of carrots. SO worth it!
The AHS has continued to complete its destruction of horses in and around PE. SO sad, especially for those that did not get their vaccination shots and who suffered greatly by drowning in their own bodily fluids.
The owner of a donkey in Uitenhage’s Langa phoned asking for help with glass in his donkey’s hoof making him lame. The donkey was admitted and Stan found it was a piece of wire which he removed. Poulticing recommended and he was returned home last week.
After a very quiet time with Adoptions, the gates have finally opened, so our BLUE KL8 was moved to his new home where he is to be a companion to another pony until they are both old enough to be gelded and backed. He was accompanied to his green fields with our Petal and Lulu. Luvly jubbly!
We collected our DIVAR from her racing career, and has been adopted out and will leave at the end of the month.
Our beautiful BULLRUN has also gone to his new home and found a new friend.

Although we are needing more rain, the horses and donkeys just LOVE to visit the top camp to graze. They use the time to roll, gallop around and mooch with each other. The Exercise Arena was worth all the hard work of getting it up and running! Lol, nobody needs to be led through the AWS Car Park because they all know the way out and the way back to the camp!
Carla reacted to a weekend Complaint about 3 ponies on Cape Road, Greenbushes, and succeeded in herding them off the busy main road and into Lusaka.

Our patient in Jacksonville phoned for help with his lame horse, so Stan removed a nail from his horse’s hoof.
A stray horse found his way onto somebody’s farm. Advertised on Facebook, but no claimants!!
After a couple of ‘false starts’, our FATSIMA left for his new knowledgeable home.
Our LADY FROST left for her new home after a Pre Travel Drench and arrived safe, sound and well.
Our FLO and her jenny, the MACHINE, surrendered to us for treatment post dog and kid bites by the SPCA Uitenhage, left for their new home and settled in immediately, noses to ground and grass.
Two Crossbreeds surrendered to us and now awaiting adoption.
